Have to apartment to myself again and really struggling

It’s hard living alone, especially early in your sobriety. I know it might not work in an apartment, but I got a dog. Made a huge difference. Never come home to an empty house, unconditional love, accountability/responsibility and a motivator to go out walking more. Maybe a pet could help, if not hit more meetings and don’t climb the walls home alone.

I live with my wife but she’s gone on a business trip

I know I just can’t keep anything in the apartment so that’s where I’m at… just so tempting to go get stuff

This was solid advice. As I prepare to live alone again, it validated my ideas of getting a pet in my new place.

My wife and kids are on vacation. I have been hitting more meetings, cleaning the house, calling people I haven’t talked to in a while. All those things have helped me

When a friend from AA’s wife goes away he reaches out and someone invites him to hang out. Don’t be afraid to ask
