Have you heard of HALT? Hungry Angry Lonely Tired.
Life is full of stressors and recovery is no different. When life gets hard stop and think. Don't make any decisions while hungry lonely angry or tired. This is when we are most vulnerable to relapse. So HALT and reach out. Have a plan for triggers.

That’s solid advice. HALT can save us from making choices we might regret. How do you remind yourself to pause in those moments?

I either stop and take a few deep breaths. Or if I get a craving I stop and go down the list am I hungry Angry Lonely or tired or is it something else? Then I act accordingly

I went through all four of them over the weekend.
I was Hungry so I ate,
I was Angry at myself...still am,
I'm still lonely,
I was tired... Slept hard during the day on Sunday. Now here we are at 0041hrs on 25November2024 and I'm wide awake....WTH
