Having a hard time knowing my husband is going through some tough emotions and wanting to be there for him more and support him through this and not having the words or right things to say wanting to be in his corner though so he knows he’s not dealing with this by himself can’t seem to feel like I’m doing my part feeling useless like I can’t give enough to him or not having the right answers
Don’t try to fix everything in a day. Be gentle and kind to yourself. We have to feel those emotions and work through them. It took my wife almost 6 months to finally believe I was done drinking. I had broken so many promises and gaslighted her so many times she just didn’t believe me. Lots of talking, and showing her I meant it was what it took. Keep your head up. It will all work out if everyone wants it to.
Sometimes all we need is someone to be there. No words needed. No actions either. Just be there. Solitude in thought is something he may need, but that is not the same as being alone. Let him know you are there if he needs to talk, and let him talk if he needs to.
We say that the program is a way of life designed for anyone.
You might find someone that is willing to walk you through the steps at a womens meeting.
