Having a lot of anxiety today. I relapsed this weekend

Then, add a walk or a jog or a bike ride - when that urge starts to tug. Or listen to Lucy Goode and Victoria vanstone - they’re hilarious!

I'm here with ya brother. I really appreciate all the advice

Hang in there sista - just don’t put that first drink to your lips - unless it’s tea, or flavored water.. ya really can’t get drunk if your first drink is chamomile tea.. or water..

Tea really helps me too and I don't really even love the stuff! It's the process of making it, adding cream, warming your hands on the mug, smelling it, first sip yada yada yada. During the whole mindful experience it feels nourishing and drinking alcohol sounds revolting- like literally drinking poison should!

A slip is still a step. You learn and you grow if you donate thing: 1) examine how and why it happen ed and how it could have been avoided; and 2) forgive yourself and move forward. The number mat start over but the growth and experience does NOT revert back to 0. Learn and keep moving forward.

All your AF days are your forever. Drinking doesn’t make you a bad person, it gives you a result you don’t like. You are always and forever worthy of love. :rose:the term “relapsing” wasn’t useful for me. You get to decide on how you label things. I like to choose the words that support and empower me.

Relapse is a part of the process (atleast 4 me it has been) if u can use it to figure out what happened or triggers then it can be a tool in the future 4staying sober. No matter what don’t feel like your time sober was wasted because if you are trying to regain your sobriety the time u spent in recovery taught u

You got this. Just jump right back up and keep going. You hit a bump but it’s all good. Try something new for combating those urges. I liked something as simple as coloring. Put on some music and the adult swearing coloring pages are lots of fun. It’s mindless but at the need you can see the result. Plus I could do it at anytime because it’s quiet so I wouldn’t wake up or disturb my household, and I love to walk but you can only take so many a day and the weather doesn’t always cooperate.
