Hey guys it’s Friday night I’m depressed but still chugging. I’m really loving this App and everyone’s support helps a lot. I’m checking into detox/rehab on Monday, march 6. My ankle monitor died And a warrant was issued for me. Im so sad about this because I’ve been trying so hard to not miss one court date or something but it died and I fucked up. Not sure what to do but im still going to definitely go to rehab.
By "chugging" I hope you mean figurative locomotion lol. Not a good sign to be chugging in my world.
Oh, they wanted me to be within 24 hrs of my last drink for insurance to justify intake to detox. I hope you don't have to deal with that stipulation. It's silly and reckless but you will see insurance will dictate a lot. Be prepared for 30 days minimum and make sure you pack whatever clothes are allowed (mine was 5 outfits 🤷) because laundry is scheduled once a week usually. You can usually bring toiletries, lotion, and cosmetic products as long as alcohol is not an ingredient. Some allow you to bring your razor, otherwise they supply a really terrible one. Usually allowed to take books to read in down time (the TV situation is who knows) and they usually take your phone and lock in a locker...they allow you to get into it to get numbers and information usually. There is usually a "blackout" period where they don't want you to use the phone (even the land line) for around 7 days. This is to prevent people from bailing out as soon as adversity from detox comes. They'll obviously allow emergency calls if you really make a stink but they probably won't be happy about it
Whew! That's all off top of my head but there are a lot of rules in there as part of it is to create structure in your life. It's annoying but often necessary. I'll think of several more things if you want to hear dm me.
Pack more than they even tell you! I could have packed more....like a giant luggage lol. Good luck
Good luck you will be glad your there, trust the process
You’re so kind heather. I’m not but I am. I fucked up again.
Stay strong …. We all mess up with our addiction and we always are the hardest on ourselves …. Just take it a day at a time and things will get better
