Hang in there John. One day at a time. Just keep getting distance between you and that last drink. Be patient and deliberate.

You can learn a lot if you’re willing to listen and accept their help. Addiction is giving up everything for one thing and recovery is giving up one thing for everything. Get yourself everything and never let it go again. 7 days is great but keep that strength up because addiction’s outside doing push-ups right now.

To all of you who are new, it gets easier to not drink each day. What did it for me at the beginning was lots of meetings, reading the Big Book every day, thanking God each day for my sobriety, working the steps with a sponsor and learning humility. Don't give up ! God wants you to be well, sober and happy. Don't forget to work with other alcoholics after you have worked all the steps. Meetings and a new relationship with my HP whom I call God saved me.
