Health insurance

So i just turned 26 in December, and im scared im gonna be ve kicked off my moms health care and i won't be able to get my methadone anymore. Im currently taking 75mg a day and have been for at least 9 months. I want to start weening off or st least lowering my tolerance just incase i do loose my insurance. It's just I don't know how to start, because if i do go down in my dose it affects me a lot. If i go down 5mg rn then it wont last be until the next day to my next dose. I don't want to have to suffer for weeks every time i go down. Im just wondering if theres anything I can do or take that will make it easier. Theres this product on Tiktok that people keep saying helps with withdrawals better than methadone or subs but i don't know if I should trust Tiktok shop influencers.

I’d talk to the doctor that prescribes your methadone and not so much trust tik tok

Man, I don't have any suggestions but do want to thank you for sharing this.

I was kicked off of my moms insurance at 26. Go to the insurance marketplace you can find a new one almost instantly. Talk to your Dr and insurance ppl and tell them ur situation and why u can't go without ur meds

It’s definitely something to talk through with a provider or clinic just to stay safe.
You’re doing the right thing asking questions though. That shows you’re serious about starting on top of this if things go left with insurance. Proud of you for even considering the next step. If you add me as a friend, I can help you locate more resources.

Also that is a tradition for GROUPS. Not individuals. How dare you use that information so incorrectly to cast judgement on a fellow person in recovery. Please speak to your sponsor and get your ego in check. This was not appropriate and you need to check yourself. Please.

Yah I read the first line and I'm not reading anything else lol. Plenty of people still live THEIR FAMILIES for like idk THEIR WHOLE LIFE. And that most people in this country are still on their parents insurance at 26 why TF do you think they made the policy in the first place HEALTH CARE IS EXPENSIVE and so is living on your own especially in this housing market. You obviously have a very narrow view of the world around you but it's a very common thing to still live at home in this economy. Have you not been awake the past idk 10 years...

Your mom’s health insurance will need to off COBRA which is expensive but it’s an option to continue your coverage for weening down. You could also look into your states options.
