healthy boundaries and learning not to people please
This is very important for yourself
self love and care is a huge key in recovery I have found
everytime i try to people please i either find myself feeling worse, or in a negative situation. im definitely still struggling trying to put myself first, but it helps to journal and analyze where your shame or guilt is coming from!!
I'm right there with you. I struggled with this. Actually, sometimes I still catch myself people pleasing. As long as I'm catching it I can make the effort to correct it.
Good choice
Healthy boundaries
I need to learn how to set boundaries and stop people pleasing. It’s dragging me down.
honestly me too, i catch myself doing it in little ways still so it’s hard but practice def does help
YES literally me today, but awareness towards it is the first step for growth
Absolutely
I just set a bunch of boundaries today and I feel a lot better.
that’s amazing i love that for you, the worst is when you feel incredibly guilty afterwards but that’s always normal too!
I didn’t feel guilty at all. A lot of it had to do with reasonable resentments I had so my only course of action was to forgive and set boundaries so those actions would stop. How are you doing with your boundaries? I know some might make you feel guilty but you need to remind yourself that as long as they are reasonable you have to stand by them, so pray for strength to keep your boundaries and don’t let anyone cross them.
ahhh really? do you know how your thought process is when you usually set boundaries because i always feel guilty, even if the boundaries make complete sense to anyone. i have been doing okay, but i still am confused since i feel guilty whenever i set a boundary or i am unsure if i am doing it in a nice way or not
The boundaries I set were boundaries that were necessary to keep me from getting depressed or feeling guilty like one of them is about healthy communication because I refuse to be put down or yelled at anymore. That kind of action had me feeling depressed and anxious all the time so I don’t feel guilty about setting that boundary at all. A lot of them are set to help improve my mental health through healthy interactions, so my mindset was “if I don’t set these boundaries it will eventually lead me to a psych ward or worse”. I had to set them so I can be happy and healthy.
