Hello Everyone im new to this site and new to recovery i would like to meet friends to go through this with its so hard doing this alone I moved to Florida alone and left my family and friends behind and after being here 5 years I haven't found a new friend yet my boyfriend is an addict as well and i don't no how to leave him since he is my only friend I am weak and a follower .. I wanna say no but it is so so hard ...
Hi Renee! What you need is to find/build a sober community to help empower you. Here is a good start. But I would also suggest AA, NA, Women for Sobriety, The Luckiest Club, or She Recovers. All have meetings that you can attend, some offer online and in-person and some are only one format. By building a sober community you will find the strength to go out on your own and you will have support when things are hard and you struggle. Sober community is everything. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it is connection. Reach out if you ever want to talk!

Well I'm new in recovery too so I know what you going through with the feeling's but we have to stay true to ourselves
Hi Renee, I have the same issue--my boyfriend is also an alcoholic and it's hard not to drink while he's drinking. I also don't have much of a support system either, reach out to me if you'd like to talk.
