Hello everyone, today is my 3rd day of no alcohol

Hello everyone, today is my 3rd day of no alcohol. I'm a wine drinker. Or was a heavy wine drinker. Does anyone feel like if they talk about your recovery you might "jinx" it? I feel that if I talk about it to family or friends, I will just start drinking again.

That's why I go to meetings. I surround myself with people who are going through the same things or have been there before.

Hi Andrea, it's a tough go at first but it gets better. Somewhat easier, in the sharing and trusting in the process. I've been challenged with old ideas and habits but by sharing and walking through the challenges the results are a better understanding and faith in the program. Which makes things a bit easier to cope with and get through. Hang in there and don't shy from sharing your challenges with other alcoholics..like the Big Book says, " it works it really does."

Andrea, you don't have to talk about it with family or even friends. That's why we have AA and NA. It's anonymous. And as we all have found out at one point or another. Sometimes family and friends can unconsciously sabotage us. You could always tell them when you're stronger. And feel more sure of yourself. It can be really tough at the start of recovery.:two_hearts:

I totally understand the feeling. When i first got sober I didn’t go public til after 90 days

No I talk about it all the time

Congrats I don't like AA but go to a recovery center group. There is free programs out there for addiction and mental health. I give people rides because no one should be alone.
