Hello everyone! Todays my 1st day off of meth in

Hello everyone!! Todays my 1st day off of meth in a couple years. I'm doing better than I thought I would. I'm still scared but I am doing ok physically & mentally so far. I'm praying I can get through this by myself without having to go away. I'll be d sad so devestated if I have to leave my 9 year old. She's my life. She's the reason I'm doing this. Ty for listening.

Great job on taking the first step! I would recommend getting on zoom aa or na meetings daily. I'm a little over 2 months clean off meth and the meetings have helped me a lot. Really wish I would've tried them out sooner. They can be kind of boring and repetitive at times, but just being present daily with other folks with the common goal of sobriety has been really helpful. Best of luck and please feel free to reach out.

Congratulations! I agree about a program. Any program. The accountability will help. Watch out for detoxing. If you need to please go to the hospital. They have meds that can help. Good luck and keep your head up!

Right on mama! :sparkling_heart: keep it up. I’m day one sober (again) off alcohol. Kicked the meth habit long long time ago…. But like you, I’m doing this for my 5, 14 and 16 year olds. They deserve better than what I got growing up. And it’s not always gonna be easy but it is so totally worth it. :sparkling_heart: sending you so much love and support right now!

Listen to podcasts Sober Awkward - the two English ladies are both mums - hilarious - they might resonate with ya!

Thank you! I'll be praying for you as well.

Hey, Laura! Congrats on Day 1. That's a huge deal and should be celebrated. :tada:

Take it 1 day/moment at a time.

Keep you and your daughter at the front of your sobriety.

I'm proud of you.

Great work and congratulations on day one. You got this!!

My last binge was on meth for 2 years straight. A month break in between before I really decided to kick it up a notch.
I am scared for you. Why you ask. Because I thought I could quit on my own. No joke when I tell you when I tell you for the first time that I was staring death in the eyes. Homeless on the streets of Las Vegas, scared shirtless, dirty, need I say more. I was a mess and I didn't even know it.
The fun part. I'm being facious. Withdrawing took me over the edge. The worst psychological withdrawal I've ever experienced. I wanted to die everyday. I couldn't sleep, hide, have any energy.

The only person who kept me vigilant about hope that would tell me to find one thing to be hopeful for and that was nothing until something happened.

Help! I needed HELP and I took all I could get. There's more but do you get the picture. Although, this is my experience it may not be yours.

By the way, I also quit for people too. If you can't quit for yourself and find value in your life, how can you ever truly value others.

Think about yourself, learn to love you for the beautiful people we all are. We got lost and we must find the sparkle in us. This is not a job I couldn't do alone because I just effed it up.
