Hello, I am new to this community. I have been dealing with a drinking problem for sometime. It’s been especially worse since I’ve been going through a divorce. I am currently three days sober, the longest in over a year. I am just taking things day by day and I hope to be the father my son can be proud of.

Congrats on 3 days! It's so hard bin the begining.... beginning.... take it one day at a time....one minute at a time if you need too...I
My biggest suggestions are...1. Find something to do fur 10 to 15 minutes if you feel triggered to get your mind off it.....2. Keep in mind and write it out the top 5 reasons why you want to be substance free/not drink and things you can do to distract yourself and people you can talk to if you need it

Just to expand on that list Holly mentioned. The distraction list. I have 27 items on that list . These are from mundane things like brushing your teeth and taking medication to specific work outs and posting on Loosid at least 3 times a day. Anything to keep your mind occupied. Also, these are often a lot of things we neglected to do while on year long benders, so the recovery process feels even more profound and physical as well. Keep it up and good luck.

Welcome! Yeah life is tough sometimes, and alcohol doesn't help. A book I read that changed my life is 'Alan Carr's quit drinking without willpower'. I recommend giving it a read and seeing how things feel.

I’ve heard of that I’m currently reading the alcohol experiment.
