There's really good AA groups in the McHenry county area & quite a few women only meetings. Is that too far east for you?

Hello Steph! Welcome to Loosid! To me, happiness is an emotion. I can eat something and be happy. I can read something and be happy. I’m looking for a state of consciousness that brings me joy. Where I can live in a joyous state of mind. So far sobriety has helped but I’m finding that it’s more about coming terms with my past. Making right all the wrongs I’ve done then changing the way I think, act and most importantly the self destructive behaviors I once did. That how I believe one can find true joy in life.
