Hello my name is yasmine. I’m in my early 30s

Hello my name is yasmine. I’m in my early 30s a mother of an almost two year old a wife and a loving dog mom. I don’t know how to ask for help/support with out saying who I am. I have a loving family. My husband is great (doesn’t drink/not a user of any kind) I have a son that’s almost two 4 dogs.by text my life is everything you could imagine. Yet I still find myself going back to a terrible habit. I’ve never done drugs ive just always been a drinker.I started as most do when I was 21 going out with girl friends having fun. It progressed to me drinking alone and not caring. Over the years I have found myself (drunk) saying things I would never say. Hurting people I would never in a million years hurt. Over the past years my drinking has progressed. I drank occasionally.. having fun dancing. To “needing” a bottle of wine a day or I would be pissed and irritated.- few months back I really saw the severity of my problem. I have cut back tremendously and have only had a few drinks here and there throughout the week. Last night was not the case. I bought a big bottle of wine which in the back of my head maybe née I would end up drinking. My husband called me out on it and I got pissed.I called him out on it. Called him names. And still drank. I know this is who I’ve become but THIS IS NOT ME this can not be my life anymore. There is no one I know that can conversation bout my issue … I guess I’m just hoping to make some friends along the way that can relate and support

Welcome! I found an online AA zoom group that is 24/7 that has helped me tremendously. I posted about it on my feed.

Welcome. Things will only get better.

If you can at least get your hands on the Alcoholics Anonymous book (do try and get to meetings), skip over the first part of the book (for now). Read the personal stories. See if you can’t see yourself in some of them.
I’m not advocating to never read the first part (best part) of the book. Just for now the stories might be good for you. Another terrific book is “We are the Luckiest”.

Listening to the stories on this platform helps me a lot. From that I heard about a book one of the guests wrote called “sober diary” . I listened to it on audible.

I’ve been there many years ago I put my ex through hell. I got sober been sober for 17 years. I was sober with her for the last ten years of our marriage. But the first five I had done so much damage that she could not forget or forgive. I scared her. And we divorced even do I was sober up and changed completely.

If it’s getting to the point that your hurting dose you love. Be very careful. Do your drunk it’s not excuse to put insult or call out dose who love you and are trying to help you. You need to admit you have a problem and let your family know also.

Thank you for your response

Some days I still find it hard to believe that I am capable of the mean words I can say or things I can do. I think it is a great reference to read other people’s stories to maybe open my eyes. Thank you for your response

Thank you Dianne. I appreciate your inspiration
