New here, no alcohol since New Year's Eve - it wasn't even a celebration, just my mind/body reaching for the familiar. Was asleep by 10:30 and didn't see in the new year.

Proud of myself, because also going through a break up (5 years) and haven't reached for alcohol although sometimes the thought creeps in - but I know that if I drink I will end up reaching out to the person I am trying to heal from. That would be disastrous.

Anyone have any tips for coping through a very rough patch?

Stay focused stay positive and stay as busy as you can and when the thought pops up or u feel a trigger coming have something you could do to counter act the thought and put your mind else where I know easier said than done I know how you feel im battling with my addictions daily and I too at one time kept reaching out to the very people that I needed to disengage from because if not more problems....would brew

don't know, but you could celebrate your success. Get yourself something you've wanted for a while. Keep it up.
