Here lately I thought I had it controlled. I thought

Here lately I thought I had it controlled. I thought I was able to have a few drinks and go to sleep, boy was I wrong. The other night scared me. But it was the eye opener I desperately needed to get the help I need. You know alcohol has taken over your life when you have to seek out a medication to stop the cravings because you know without it, you won’t ever get sober, then eventually in the long run you will lose everything. Im on day two. And on both days I’ve wanted to drink to just not deal with things, but I didn’t. I went to a meeting and reached out to one of my best friends who struggles with addiction as well. I am not my disease and I will not let it control me anymore. This journey to rebuilding, rediscovering and figuring out who I am is going to be rough but so worth it.

You can absolutely regain control over everything again! I believe in you. Don’t let people tell you you’re messed up and have a disease because you have in all your capacity as a woman to take your life in your own unique and positive direction
