Here we go again

Being on day 2 again after an 8 month sobriety streak really pisses me off. It really opens my eyes to the fact that I’m literally going to be struggling with this for the rest of my life. I’m so angry, but more than anything I’m disappointed in myself for my ignorance and carelessness. As I went longer and longer without drinking, I had somehow come up with the idea that I must be cured now. I thought I could get away with having “just one.” Next thing you know I’m sucking down a 24 pack of beer until the sun came up. How could I be so reckless?? All of my progress, gone! For what? I’m not cured, I will never be cured, UGHHHHHH

Are you in a program of any kind? Sponsor? Sober support group?

I don't think all your progress is gone. You've learned a lot in those 8 months, and you're leaning from this slip. It's a non-linear journey so there's no such thing as back to 0 on my book. You've got the tools, and you can do it!

Speaking for myself as soon as I let my guard down it's GAME OVER!!!

Pick yourself back up and start again that’s all you can do… forget the 8months because today is what matters
