Here's what I've learned about using dreams...
It's normal. I still get using dreams, even though I've quit alcohol 329 days ago. The dreams I had are usually this type of scenery: at a bar from open to past closing time or anywhere besides home downing bottles or cans of beer or hard liquor. I would wake up from the dream with sweaty limbs. I didn't know that my body was still purging from the years of alcohol abuse. On top of that, I didn't realize how much alcohol I've put in my body in the past.
What I've learned so far is that the using dreams is part of the subconscious. The brain is working overtime to rewire and making the human adjust himself or herself without any substance. It's interesting, but I never thought of that.
If you're reading this, you're not alone. You will continue to get "using dreams" unexpected. So, try not to worry. These dreams gave me motivation to move forward with my sobriety and the ongoing healing/self-care process.
