Hey all. Does anyone get anger bursts? Or did you

Hey all. Does anyone get anger bursts still? Or did you when you were detoxing your body? And if so, what's your best coping strategy?

I remember you saying this before and I LOVE THAT!! it's helped me so much!!!

For a while there, more than a few months, the only things I could feel were nothing or REALLY angry. At anything for no reason. It has cleared since about month six.

Yes, and I just scream a lot and write things.

It really does take the mind and body quite some time to relearn self regulation. Over time and with practice you’ll shift from reactionary to responsive. You’ll relearn how to express yourself. Or at least it’s something I have gotten a lot better at over time.

It happens all the time, Gina. I will tell you that I’m in month 4, and it happens notably less and less each passing week.

You’re mind and body are relearning self-regulation, minus reliance on an escape mechanism. Also, when you’re not sober, you extremely seldom enter deep sleep. You sleep, but you don’t rest. The only difference now is that you feel every bit of that fatigue, and exhaustion can affect every single aspect of your being.

Every thing about recovery is time-based. What I can tell you though, is that there is no greater internal victory you will experience than learning to have reign over your actions and reactions. It’s an unparalleled freedom. Just pop those rage swells when they bubble, fight like everyone’s looking when no one is, and there’s nowhere possible to go, but up. :ok_hand:t4:
