Hey everyone. Alcohol and cocaine bring me here. I celebrating 2 weeks sober. Had a brief slip this week by attempting to seek out cocaine. Luckily I didn’t get a response. Knock off of this my partner found out and has decided to take a step back from the relationship and ended things. Today has been rough and a situation like this would usually be a trigger so my win is that I haven’t even thought about partaking in anything. Glad to be here to keep grounded and refocus.

Hello Stacey! Welcome and it’s great that you are handling this so well. If things get tough and giving up or giving in is looking attractive, reach out to me or anyone you can! I will be here and I love the opportunities to be helpful ! I feel like it’s repaying the debt I owe humanity for being such a taker for so long! Anyway, hopefully you keep positive and progressing. In that case, just share your successes so we can cheer you on!

Don't lose hope! Congratulations on not relapsing !

You are going to find that as soon as you get clean and sober those still using will abandon you. That’s a good thing. Surround yourself with supportive sober people.

Glad you are here Stacey! Most of have more than one slip in the recovery process. The important thing is to get back on track. Sounds like you are going in the right direction. You’ve got this!

Stacey….. you need a plan of action. Just staying sober and white knuckling it isn’t the solution. That’s untreated alcoholism and drug addiction.
I suggest the following…..
•Get yourself to an in-person AA meeting daily.
•Find a home group that discusses the solution.
•Find a good sponsor. Someone with long term sobriety, works the steps daily, has a God in their life.
•Read the first 164 pages of the Big Book …. That’s the solution!
•Thoroughly work all 12 steps with a sponsor
This is exactly what I did after returning from detox and a treatment center.
I recently celebrated 31 years of sobriety. I was at the bottom and surrendered. Don’t think that any online group is going to keep you sober.
Long term sobriety is available to each of us IF we do the work.
Best wishes :pray::peace_symbol:

That’s a big win, Stacey. You didn’t entertain it when it got hard, that’s fantastic. 2 weeks might not feel like much but I’m telling you, it’s HUGE!
