Hey everyone! I just joined. I have 1 year, 11 months and 9 days Of sobriety currently. I do not have a sober community whatsoever and would very much like to.

Congratulations on the huge accomplishment! I joined for the same reason, I’m lacking in meetings and social interaction mostly due to transportation and living in a small town. Feel free to add me or message me anytime and keep up the good work!
Hi Jack haha, yes I know there are zoom meetings 24/7, but my experience with them hasn't been the best. Also I find I have social anxiety in larger groups on video and feel like I'm not actually making individual connections. Living in a small town and not having reliable transportation to go further distances is also a problem and if I do happen to find a meeting close by, it's the same people I've known my whole life in this small town and honestly are just toxic for me to surround myself with. Finding apps like this seems to be quite helpful.

You seem to be having the same struggles me with socializing in the community because of the same problems,small town and transportation... I also joined clubhouse which has amazing recovery rooms and people from all over the world in them sharing their experiences and are very welcoming and friendly, so that's been great, I just wish I could find people in recovery closer to actually have a social life outside the internet... I'll never stop trying.

I just want to say congratulations on your sobriety. What a tremendous accomplishment.
A few of us go to a speaker meeting on Friday nights. It’s hosted in Hawaii but there are people from all over. There’s no requirement to turn your camera on. No requirement to introduce yourself or identify as alcoholic. The host is generally this amazing woman from South Carolina. It is impossible to be in a funk when she’s on the mic. It starts at 10 eastern 7 pacific. If you’d like to check it out send me a friend request and I’ll send you a link, or look at @wedad117429 page. Small towns are tough. If there is ANY option it is AA and we all know it’s not for everyone (I go for the fellowship, not the program). I used to drive 45 min each way to meetings, now we have some locally. I didn’t grow up here so I don’t have the same baggage but many locals have the same issues. You are not alone. Some in person support is important though. Maybe there is one local person you can work with?

Welcome and congratulations on your year. This is a great place to start.. lots of nice people here.. when your comfortable enough venture further on to face to face in person meetings (suggestion)
Either way you in a safe place 
Me too, thankfully I can be anonymous in my little group, and we are not AA purists. We come together for mutual support, not to tell people what they should do. But outside of that I have no social life besides the occasional date which leads no where. But I’m sober and that’s what matters
