Hey everyone, I'm new here. I live in Virginia. Just wanted to say Hi and express how blown away I am that I an 8 years clean! I truly didn't see myself ever saying that!

Congrats! It's def an awesome feeling. 8 years clean and I'm still trying to figure out the ends and outs to living a clean and sober life😁

Wow , Congrats! It will be 4 years for me in February and I could have never imagined this, great work. How many times did you relapse before it sticking this time?

7 times, 3 of those times I was going to the methadone clinic and still went back to using. For me, i wasn't just addicted to using, it was the life style too.

I think it helps for newer people to see answers like that so they don’t feel so bad when they relapse and a lot of the times it’s part of the process for many

I agree! Relapse is def a part of recovering and just bc someone relapsed DOES NOT mean they are a failure or crappy person and I think that's where it's hard for people to continue to want to do better and be and live sober. We need a sound support system!
