Hey everyone, my journey with trying to get sober starter

Hey everyone, my journey with trying to get sober starter about 5 years about. Since then I spent 30 days in an in-patient facility. I have had long periods of sobriety, and then I have gone though periods where binging has put me in the hospital a few times within only a few months. Over the last year the frequency seems to be increasing and I’m afraid if I don’t take serious action. This is going to destroy my life. I’ve tried AA and it doesn’t seem right for me. I’ve tried virtual groups with no real success. All the medications and no luck. I’ve really been looking into ketamine therapy. I have a friend who has had a lot of success with it. Has anyone tried it? And if so what was your experience?

SMART Recovery?

The treatment center I was in had SMART recovery meetings once per week. It resonated with me, but unfortunately they don’t have many meetings at all where I live. The virtual meeting are mostly during the day when I’m working. It’s and option though. Thanks!

You are going to get many different opinions on this. Ultimately you have to decide. If you do move forward with it, find a true professional and let them know your addiction history. A program of recovery in addition to therapy would be great
