Hey friends! I, myself am not struggling but my brother is and i could really use the prayers for him right now. Trying to convince him to go to rehab hasnt worked and im really worrying about him and his mental health.

IM IN AGREEMENT THAT HIS DRINKING AND USING CAREER HAS BEEN RUINED AND RECOVERY/SOBRIETY BECOMES VERY PERSONAL. OUR LIBERAL GOVERNMENT COINS ALL THESE TERMS TO KEEP US DEPENDENT ON THEM.. THE BIGGEST MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE WE FACE TODAY IS FEAR. WE ADDRESS THAT ISSUE AND GET PEOPLE BACK IN FAITH.. THEY HAVE A FIGHTING CHANCE... One day at a time.. WE DO RECOVER... WHY DO I KNOW. BECAUSE TODAY IM IN YEAR 38

I just got back from a detox clinic. I'm 4 days sober as of now. I don't want to go back. I hope your brother gets the help he needs

Prayers lifted for YOU and your brother. I will have one year sober on May 24. I went to Alanon for my reactions to family drinkers. When I went to AA 18 months ago, I stopped going to Alanon bc I didn’t want them to know I was the enemy amongst them. My power tipped when my son continued to drink and act like he did since I lived with him for six years. I was only as sick as my secrets. I didn’t tell anyone in AA and I just stopped going to Alanon. I put a lid on the pot that had both. It boiled over. I am powerless over alcohol, when I choose it or another in my life chooses it. Fortunately, my Higher Power can handle both “dis-ease’s” and can lead me out of my spinning.

I'm glad he has you as an example so he can get on the right path. I had to quit enabling my mom for her to go to rehab. I was able to kick substance through 12 step work. Lots of pathways to recovery.
