Jessica, welcome to sobriety. Welcome to Loosid where like minded people help each other by offering suggestions and sharing one’s experiences with each other. My name is Kevin and I’m a recovered Alcoholic. I work a 12 step program of Alcoholics Anonymous better known as AA. I’m so glad you found this app and that you are one month sober. Congrats on making the decision to get sober. My suggestion is to find a few meetings in your area. Sit up front. Listen to those who have what you and are talking your language. Get a few phone numbers and call them each day. It doesn’t have to be a long conversation. My first calls were literally 30 seconds long. Hey man how’s it going? I’m just making my sobriety call. You good? Cool! Ok talk to you tomorrow.
That was literally what I did for a good many months. Was it scary? Heck yeah! But that uncomfortable feeling really got me out of myself. I was in a whole realm.
I’d offer you a temporary sponsorship but I’m at my capacity, 5 currently. 3 men and 2 women. I don’t discriminate, I’m here to help. If you need to ask me questions about the program I’m available. You can message me on this app. I’ll send over a friend request now.
I’m super stoked for you. Keep up the good work. Remember sobriety isn’t a race. We have the rest of our lives to live sober.
