Hey guys I’m feeling a little low, I’ve been having a craving to drink since I’ve been stressed out. And don’t know what to do to distract myself. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Honestly no hobbies maybe I can go get a book I haven’t read anything in sometime

Hey Cody! I know that uncomfortable restless feeling all too well. It’s good that you recognize and acknowledge it. That’s the beginning of learning to stay sober. There are a ton of sobriety/recovery podcasts that you could listen to. Maybe you want to try a zoom meeting? Have you ever tried any recovery program? Taking a walk outside is always a good thing. If you live near a park or some other place where you can observe Mother Nature, that always calms my mind. At some point you gotta get used to just feeling uncomfortable, and letting it pass. Feelings are temporary. They don’t feel temporary at the moment, but they do pass.

I did a lot of listening to recovery pod casts. Sometimes I would get so antsy I’d need to focus on something was was to antsy to read. Plus I’d go to a ton of AA meetings. Im not huge into AA. But the meetings defo helped especially when I felt the urge to drink. Good luck! You can do it.

Hi Cody, I try and walk 6 miles a day or usher or tell myself I'll drink tomorrow if I have a strong craving. It's great you reached out and hope your craving is diminished.

I just want to share experience. Last time I relapse I felt so terrible and regrets, it’s again and again a proof for me - stay away from that first drink! You don’t drink. That’s all. No matter what! Take a sleep pill and try to go to bed.
