I've been there man. When I'd go visit family back home I'd stay in a hotel so that It was easier to avoid the family and old friends I didn't want to interact with. And visit the ones I did at a set time. I'd also say I had plans to meet with someone else if I needed to leave the situation I was in because it got too stressful or booze was getting brought out.

Dude. I feel you. It’s really, really hard. Try eating some good food and hopefully keep busy with good company. That’s all I did. Eat my face off.

Punctuation.

I just bowed out of a friend’s wedding because I can’t be around the level of partying they do. I even told him why I wasn’t attending. My friend was completely supportive.

Yes, that’s hard. I think me going home and staying with and seeing my family was harder. First visit 5 days, then 4, then 3 now it’s about 2-3 is enough. And I rarely see my old friends anymore.

It’s hard, I’ve been there. Definitely saying you have other plans is great, staying positive & extremely active. I always try & go for a run or get in a good workout when I need to clear my head. If you’re into journaling…writing a list of the incredible things sobriety has brought into your life or reasons why you stay sober. Good luck! You got this!:sparkling_heart:
