Hey, guys! Thanks for having me
I’m 2.5 days sober (again) and feeling hopeful. I realized though I don’t have many sober acquaintances. When I first moved to this city a few years ago I became a bartender (that’s basically how I met all the people I know, they were either customers or coworkers) and don’t really know what to do with myself now that I’ve switched career fields and stepped away from the bottle, so that’s been my focus for today, coming up with alternative activities. Anyway, I hope today brings all of you something to smile about. Thanks again for being here
Go to a meeting everyday, you will meet new people that way. Finding your pack in recovery will help with so many things. Find a sponsor and do what she tells you to do. You're not alone!
Welcome. As Cristi said… start going to meetings every day. Before you know it, you will have new friends and plenty of sober things to do. Good luck!
Congratulations just remember one say at a time and it is a we program you don't have to do this alone be passionate with your Sobriety for me that is my number one priority so be strong and be bless sky is the limit
I'm sorry it should of said one day at a time im slow this morning LOL
Welcome I am glad you’re here!
New activities is a great place to start. There an app called meet up maybe you’d have luck there to find a group that gets together doing something you like. ODAAT
If you feel like using post contact someone every relapse happens by a thought really the lie that we can use safely you are not alone my friend! Keep the faith!!
Wish we met under better circumstances but glad you came. Your sugar craving should subside could be a yr. Carbs affect the feel good area of the brain. It's trying to counteract the Alcohol withdrawal. A pound or 2 is better than a drink or 2 by far. Hang in there it's worth it. Reach out anytime
Congratulations on your sober days and there's online AA meetings as well as face to face. Don't be intimidated or embarrassed to go in! There's lots of nice and good people in there.
I'm a chef and know all to well about the food industry. Not a fun atmosphere for us. I'm happy you were able to get out. Congratulations on the couple days too. Those are milestones and reasons to be happy about. No matter what happens you remained clear headed and didn't give into temptation. Kudos to you for that. Be proud of yourself and believe you can do it. Because no meeting or person on here or out of there will be able to say anything that makes sense to you, unless you don't believe in yourself first. Without belief we can't succeed. Best to you and keep smiling and pushing forward. Also, its about going to bed sober and waking without a hangover and regrets what counts most.. ciao
