Hey loosid fam, How is everybody feeling about the holiday coming 2mm. This will be my second thanksgiving sober. And I am so nervous im gonna want a glass if wine. Any advice??
The holiday nerves are real. Going into something that used to feel so normal can definitely feel strange now or a bit tempting. But being in your second sober Thanksgiving, you’ve already gained so much to be grateful for.
Plan ahead, know where you’re going to be and who you’ll be around. If it gets overwhelming, let a support person know it’s time to leave. Most of all, focus on being present and enjoying the day sober. You’ve come so far, and you can handle this. You’ll do great!
You are so right ! The cravings are usually fine it’s more so like seeing other people partaking and having a good time. I feel like I’m not joining in on the fun. But then i remember how far I’ve come. I plan to celebrate with some apple cider
Apple cider is the an excellent choice!
Yes, come through with the apple cider. You already have a plan. You're doing better than you realize. Also, thank you for choosing apple cider over pumpkin spice.
Congrats on celebrating your 2nd Thanksgiving sober.
I'd avoid anyone I expect is going to make me nervous. Family can be a main trigger and they don't all become infallible around the holidays. Hope your thanksgiving is joyful!
Hi Ash. For me it's crucial to have a drink in my hand. My beverage of choice is ginger ale :). This usually helps me.
Ash thanks for asking about the upcoming holidays.
I'm feeling very good about them.
I'm going to see my son for Christmas who I haven't seen in over 3 years because he's been active in the military and deployed.
I love pumpkin spice, but apple cider is sooooo much better Have a great holiday !
Yes they really can be and not even realize it
Amazing !! I hope you two share a great holiday together
Yes usually for me I’ll do seltzer with some cherry juice and lime and put it in a fancy cup
Awesome i will def look into it
You know what's really good, cranberry juice and orange juice.
Personally, I try to limit encounters with family who are judgemental. They don't become infallible around the holidays.
