Hi everyone, first time posting. My sobriety date is August 9, 2020. I had initially been sober from 2000 to 2015 before falling off. I did not do steps either. This time I have a sponsor who's great. Going through many emotions and having hard time staying content. I recently filed divorce from my alcoholic and drug using husband for so many reasons. I definitely felt that my sobriety was always at risk as the deliberate behavior was always in my face and the insanity was relentless. Not to mention my own sobriety was undermined and challenged. I know in the long run I am doing the right thing, but some days I get very down. Maybe not sure what I can do more to stay focused. I am the treasurer of my AA group and have done off hours phone service for the Chicago Area Service Group. I do short meditations, too. Just wondering if anyone has more ideas to stay in the present and grounded?

That’s quite a story Cassie. Now you get to write the next chapter! Our stories share a few similarities. I stayed sober for 27 years before falling off. I didn’t do the steps either. I’m working on 8 & 9 now with a sponsor. The ODAAT approach, along with a better understanding of my power and powerlessness have me feeling more comfortable this time around. Thanks for sharing
