Hi everyone, I'm new here. I started my alcohol sobriety

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I started my alcohol sobriety journey 1 year ago in June. Since then, I have fallen off the wagon. I lied to myself and made myself feel like it was ok if I kept it to moderation. But I should have known better. I've been repeating certain patterns and finding myself back to withdrawals and hanxiety more and more often. My behavior is also slipping. I came so far just to end up so behind. I just want to get back to that amazing feeling I felt when I was 40 days sober and I want to stay that way. I have so many triggers and I live with my boyfriend who always seems to want to drink more when I am vocal about wanting to quit. I anticipate calling my doctor tomorrow about a referral for an alcohol abuse therapist. I feel lost again. It really sucks. I somehow managed to quit smoking on my own but this is so different. Any pointers for early restart would be so helpful.

Don’t be hard on yourself. You did it once you can do it again…. For good! As far as your boyfriend not being 100%… that is a hard conversation you are going to have to have. Especially with early sobriety you need to have the focus. Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragement!

Sounds like you might need some actually recovery from your problem. If you're anything like I was I always thought I could do it by myself. I said "I got this" but things eventually got out of control. I might suggest that you reach out to some recovered alcoholics for help and solutions. They are free and willing "alcohol abuse therapists" and you'll probably save thousands of dollars. Every therapist I ever saw either said I was an alcoholic or said "I need to evaluate my relationship with alcohol" lol. Not a single could provide a way to fix my problems. They are but human beings and the lack the most important character of alcoholism which is personal experience. The last two therapists I saw suggested I check out AA. Anyway I did and it saved my life. Good luck to you hope you get back on track.
