Hi everyone.
I'm new to the community.
Just a little bit about me, I guess. What brought me here.
I've been sober four years.
It's been a series of up and downs ( obviously ).
I've moved a lot in the last couple years. When I first got sober, I had a small aa community, a local place that I would attend.
But once I started to move, I never actually really got back into it. It's been difficult finding a local place here. That fits well with my schedule. My job can be a bit hectic.
Even as I type that I feel like it sounds like an excuse. A lot of things have played a part in me, not finding a new community here. Changes, work, learning who I am now, mental health, physical health. All the things.
I haven't slipped or relapsed. But there just feels like there's this part of me that has come to a point where, i feel stuck. I don't have the urge to drink. Sometimes it even shocks me considering the amount of stress i've been under over the last few years. But it gets challenging in other ways.
Anyway, i spoke with a sober coach a couple months back. And he had suggested that i dive back in. You know, a community of people that get what i'm going through. And may understand what that stuck feeling feels like. And most of all, find a way to give back. The sober community gave me so much in the beginning of my journey. And I'd love to be able to give back that energy.
I am in no way a mentor or a coach, or any of that stuff. I'm just a girl who. Got better. And still struggles. And listens well.
Anyway i'm glad to be here. And loved to make some friends. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
