Hi, I’m new here. I have been sober

Hi, I’m new here. I have been sober for 48 days. Feeling a lil strange today. A friend of mine I met in treatment relapsed Friday. It’s really bothering me. And I currently don’t have a license from a DUI I got back in March which is making getting to meetings really difficult.:disappointed: I have no desire to drink but it’s all getting to me. Not feeling very positive today.

You will def have those kinds of days. Hang in there. Do a zoom meeting if you have to. I had to wake up at 4:30 am to catch a train to work from Miami to Jupiter Fl which is an hour ride and I did a zoom meeting every ride to and from work until I got another car after I lost it from my relapse. I went from a 2020 Chevy Silverado to a train to a bike for the first while out of treatment but I always made an effort no matter how bad I was feeling and I'm 10 months sober as of yesterday and have a new car again. Keep your head up! Fight for it like it's your life!

Half the people you meet in treatment will relapse unfortunately. Alot are jailhouse conversions and just playing the game til they get freedom. Don't let it derail you. Stay on your path.

A zoom meeting is a truly great suggestion. If you haven’t done one yet you’ll find they are really pretty cool. Especially when your talking to people from all over the world if you so choose an international meeting.
Also, it’s true. Most of the people you meet in rehab will relapse statistically speaking, but it doesn’t mean it should derail you. Keep moving forward and stay focused. She will find her way back but right now it’s really important to strengthen your program.
Not having her as a sounding board at the moment has it be difficult all the more reason to get to a meeting, zoom
Meeting.

It’s a cliché, but one day at a time is the best way to see it. Set small goals that are attainable to you. I don’t go to meetings, but my father has been in AA 35 years sober, so I know it works. Find the way that best works for you.
