Hi Im new to this I am 3 years sober and counting. I need friends and a sponsor. I've not had one in the 3 years and I know if I plan to continue my journey I new to find one.

When I was just over three years sober, I decided that sobriety was easy and I could do it by myself and stopped going to meetings. I didn’t have a sponsor. I soon decided that it was ok for me to drink a little. Soon, a little, became too much and I had to sober up again. I’m glad that you intend to get a sponsor and I hope you do it before it’s too late.

Ive seen people that have 30years+ its do able. I am 3 years and 6moths sober. I cant wait for my 4th sobriety anniversary

Thats exactly how I felt the easy part. But lately the my dreams have become worse and too realistic, waking up with the taste in my throat. Ive taken these horrible dreams as a sign that i need to get back at it. Go to meetings and get a sponsor. I do have family support but I feel like they try to understand but could never fully because of lack of first hand experience.

You should have a sponsor long before then, so no, it’s not a regular problem for those with sponsors, working the program.

So proud of you for being 3 years sober ! What I’ve learned the hard way is to stay close to the fellowship and get a sponsor. Self reliance did not work.

I'm now 4 years sober yes it's a thing😁
