Hi, my name is Doug and im an alcoholic and an addict. I've been off drugs for 25 yrs, and off alcohol since sept 22nd 2022. I have alot going on in my life as im looking to find an apartment before the transitional housing i live in will be coming to an end. Im in Minnesota, Detroit lakes. I go to meetings regularly both NA and AA here. Im 61 and have never told my story and maybe I can someday soon as this isn't my 1st rodeo so to say.

25 years is an incredible legacy to carry. It shows so much strength that you’re staying close to meetings. Detroit Lakes has some solid local support that might be able to help with that transition.
I’d definitely reach out to MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action right there in Detroit Lake, they have specific transitional housing programs for Becker County. You might also check with Ecumen Detroit Lakes (Lamplighter Manor); they focus on affordable housing for folks 62+, so you’re right on the doorstep of being eligible there.
