Hi. New to this app. What do people do to help with the cravings every day?
Find something too keep her mind busy. Call someone whose supportive. Go to meeting. Etc
Ur mind*
Move a muscle, change a thought. Every time a craving hits do something you don't normally do...from call someone else in recovery to just dropping and doing a push up. Anything works. But replace where those thoughts go with something else.
Stay busy. Me I started with going for walks. Also earned to love old hobbies again.
It took me a minute but finding supplements that help with anxiety and dopamine balance. For me that was Rhodiola, magnesium & zinc.
Those are all good ideas, thanks everyone!
I do things to keep my mind occupied,I freestyle rap,I reach out to someone I trust or drive down to the lake and meditate while focusing on the water, feeling the breeze off the lake
Keep some candy or sugar handy to deal with cravings
I focus on God and his word
and he took the desire away from me no struggles 159 days clean and sober after 34yrs alcohol and 31yrs of cocaine/Crack but you have to believe and trust what you are praying for and it will come to pass
Oh while you're at it strip your bed down and do your laundry... Call me when you're done.
Oh one more thing. When you're done cleaning your room and doing your laundry you might as well clean your entire house... Then call me when you're done...
You kinda see where I'm going with this...
Keep a journal, right a letter to your addiction say good bye.. it's hard but worth it..
Welcome to LOOSID! A big key to early sobriety for me was distraction. I intentionally avoided places and people that reminded me of drinking and kept myself busy with other things. It took time, but the cravings started to fade as I focused on recovery. Whatβs helping you stay distracted right now?ββββββββββββββββ
