Hi, this is my first day sober, again. I just found this app and wanted to give it a try. I’ve had more relapses than I can count and know I really can’t do this on my own.
Nope. It’s a we program sobriety is. Hope you get the support you need. Get plugged in. We’ve all been where you’re at. It can be done tho. Just don’t stop trying. It’ll click eventually.
Thank you!

Hi Jen! Welcome! There's a lot of support here!! I'm here if you need someone to chat with
Thank you Sandy! It’s a pretty overwhelming feeling being back at day 1. It’s been a struggle for so long.
Hi Jen and welcome! It definitely makes it easier to have other sober people around you (figuratively or physically). What else are you doing to support your recovery?
Congrats on your first day sober!

please don’t get down on yourself about relapse. It is part of recovery as the pathways in your brain make new trails. It takes practice and if it was easy, no one would relapse. You should be so proud of yourself for another day sober! It takes a lot of courage, insight and strength to know when enough is enough, I have this problem and I am no longer in control. That in itself is awesome

I’m not sure yet. Downloading this app was the first thing I did.
Thank you! That is really kind and helpful to hear.
Girl I know!! I've been there idk how many times before I finally surrendered! I wS a repeat rehaber and nothing seemed to be enough! I was so broken and so exhausted the last morning I "came to" I remember thinking, " I'm too scared to live and I'm too scared to die!!" And I didn't really care which one happened...so I made a choice! I'd never really given myself a chance at sobriety for any longer then a few months each time I tried...but at that point I'd literally lost EVERYTHING that ever matter to me!! Including my kids!!! I only had 1 yet left...I wasn't dead yet! That was my first awakening!
My sponsor said all the time that relapse is almost always a first step problem. “We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had become unmanageable.” For me this step was admitting that alcohol was never going to do the good things for me ever again. It was only going to do bad things to me going forward. When I was relapsing I always thought I could just rearrange the formula, that somehow I could figure it out. I will never figure it out. I am powerless.
I don’t know if your DOC is alcohol or not. If not just replace some words.
I would encourage you to stay involved here, but also to get involved with NA or AA if you can. Maybe you are already. The folks there can help you find what you need to stay sober.
Of course! I have had my fair share of relapses. Eventually I learned to put up “protective barriers” as I became healthier in my thinking and behaving. Like I said, it takes practice and it is slippery until you get the hang of it. Once you do, it’s second nature for your brain to think in this new way. This creates healthier behaving resulting from our thoughts and feelings. Be mindful in the way and what you say to yourself. Self care is really important too❤️
I recommend getting plugged into a program of some sort, there are lots of choices, here are a few: AA, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, The Luckiest Club, Women for Sobriety. These types of programs help you develop tools to help you stay sober.
Jen it is so great you’re here now. Hope very much that you stick around awhile. We need each other to stay sober. The help is here and you can help others with your story! You’re not alone. Welcome!
I feel like we all have gone threw it multiple times one way or another! Stay strong remember what you want you can do this! If you need to chat please feel free to reach out to me or anyone in recovery. Stay true to yourself.
I’m almost 3 months sober and let me tell you ugh.. I let myself down countless times.
sober
Jen, I’ve said it here often, but I REALLY didn’t want to go to meetings. I was sober 6 months before I went. And I was so miserable. It wasn’t until I started making the meetings, the fellowship and the support that I started to feel better. Best wishes, you got this if you want it.
It’s only been four days for me, just take it one day at a time if not then an hour or even a min at a time ! Reach out when WE are all rooting for u!
Start counting days not relapses. Find a sober support group. Pray and just stay occupied with things that make you happy. Stay in touch and good luck
Most of us have many day ones. The key is to not give up until it sticks
