Hi Dennis , I’m 16 months sober , have sponsor , on step 10, I moved away for work & got sober , I am alone in this town which I love. belong to AA , recently to ACA . I’ve been in long term relationship 12 + years . He is not here. , but shows up when it is convenient for him, (passing thru town ) I have trust issues, feel he is using me , he drinks . When he is here , I feel my life stops , I’m someone else . I’m struggling with being sober around people that drink .
Im sorry to here that and that sounds like it is Weighing on you hard. For me i can't be around people who use any mood or mind altering Substance . And definitely not my drug of no choice. For me i had to separate my self from my hole family because they all use something. As for the relationship 12+ years is a long time . But I couldn't be someone who used. I suggest you go back and do some writing on relationships. 4th step Style & invite your sponsor to lead you in that .
