Holiday’s

Holiday’s can be huge triggers for a lot of us addicts! It’s never a bad idea to make a safety plan around what the holidays may bring us. Bring your own beverages so you can enjoy what you like. Talk to your family & friends and let them know this may be a hard time for you so that they understand your worries & feelings. If you need to step away at anytime, do it. If you feel better and safer at your home, go home. Holiday’s can be extremely stressful & overwhelming and there’s no shame in taking care of YOU and your important needs, first. The people around you will understand and support you.

Holiday’s are much better when you are clean & sober🤍

Yessss, this is solid advice! I’ve got so many feelings around this time of year…and I’m not a big fan of feelings lol. Rather than a second serving of turkey and pumpkin pie, I’m going to go for an extra heaping of positive self affirmations and practicing self care. Seriously, a lot of people do go out this time of year. Appreciate the reminder, and grateful for the support from my recovery family
