Hope in a jar

I don’t think I have any hope left for me. I don’t want people to feel sorry for me. I just want out of this situation.

We’ve all been where you are Joshua. You have to just hang in when you are feeling this way. Who or what do you have for a support structure? Have you been to any meetings?

Yeah I feel like meetings are a 9 to 5 vibe

Meetings were not what helped me to be honest. For some folks they are lifesavers. What has helped me TREMENDOUSLY is a book I found by Allan Carr called “How to stop Drinking without willpower”. Written by a Brit who stopped smoking using this technique. It applies to any and all addictions. Please get it and start reading it. I got through the first 3 chapters and that was it. When the urge strikes I read another chapter. Haven’t even had to finish the book it is so effective.

Thanks Ruth that’s very helpful I’ll check it out at barns and nobles

Good luck and please check back in. You can do this. Some of us just need to do it a little differently to achieve the same results.

You reaching out was a great step alone! Read up. Try anything just to make it pass. Your feelings/cravings are FROM you, they are not YOU

Create a system that will help you unlearn that behavior. I’m reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. It’s very insightful. Reading this book, makes me not think about drinking or any other bad behavior I have.

Matcha :tea: helps me

I saw that book at target

It really gets you thinking, plus it’s better to read than drink wine all night (my addiction)

Joshua can you reach out to a therapist or a psychiatrist? You need to seek help if you’re feeling like this. Stay strong you’re worth it !

There is always hope! Take it one second at a time in the beginning. Don’t beat yourself up. It will all work out as it’s supposed to. Just take it easy and give yourself grace
