Hoping to have more sober friends. It gets isolating in early recovery
You got a friend, recovery is the best.
As a woman knew in recovery be careful there’s a lot of sexual predators in AA reach out to women and they’ll let you know which ones they are make friends with the women the older women in the program get a sponsor a woman, especially in new recovery
I know the feeling. I’m recovering from alcohol and my husband is still a heavy drinker. I choose to remove(isolate) myself, read books, play games on my iPad etc. That may not be your thing so find things you like to do and keep yourself busy that way until you meet more sober friends(AA, wherever). Stay strong. You got this!
I am feeling the same way!!!! The only way this is going to work is if I cut out my friends and neighbors because everyone drinks. This is the hardest part for me right now. I’ve been to AA at least 50 times and I don’t connect with the ppl there. Need a sober group of friends. I just joined a running club. Hoping to meet sober ppl there.
Sent you a FR. feel free to message, hmu, anytime.

Hi, Jesse! I totally feel the same. I’m trying to navigate this app, so when I figure it out, I’ll friend request you lol.
You have a friend here.
I'm here too so let's be friends. This is officially day 21 for me.
It can be difficult at first. Also, there’s no shortage of drinkers in S.C.
Don’t rush into anything. Get sober first and some time to get yourself in a better position to be involved. Take your time.
Agreed
…my experience as well, Jesse.
I went to many, many, MANY AA meetings
I still go to them - once in a blue moon.
Nothing against meetings.
Just that other avenues have helped me more.
All the best to everyone here.
I do not check Loosid enough to keep in touch through the messenger part of this app…
While rock on-to everyone who reaches out, looking to forge new connections and friendships.
Stay sober.
You are worth it!
A person doesn't have to isolate themselves. They may need to protect themselves from people who don't understand the process of RECOVERY. AA HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 80 YEARS AND HAS A PROVEN TRACK RECORD. IM LIVING PROOF. EVEN THOUGH MY LIFE ISN'T PERFECT. IM IN YEAR 37
