Hot hot hot

Anyone else experiencing panic attacks in this heat?? It's so hot I can't breathe! What are you doing to help this?

I went to a meeting to recharge

Box breathe, remind yourself stuff like "My hearts racing because it's hot out, I'm not in danger, I'm safe", if your near water give yourself a face bath, cool off your neck and if your confident enough carry an umbrella keeping the sun off you will help dramatically. Best wishes

@stephanie359455 Even at 37 years of sobriety, I still get panic attacks and anxiety attacks. They will slowly but surely diminish over time. When it gets hot temperature wise I usually turn on the air conditioner.

Stay hydrated. The heat can definitely make anxiety feel worse. One thing that’s helped me is putting a hand on my heart and slowing my breathing. Sometimes both hands on my knees and just focusing on the pressure for a minute or two helps settle my nervous system. Hope you get some relief soon.
