I rented a hotel room in a neighboring town so my daughter could celebrate her birthday at a Waterpark. After checking in, my 2 kids did the kid thing and inspected everything. The.mini-fridge had bottles of alcohol from the last people there. Even after 9 yrs, I was triggered. I had to ask my 13 yr old daughter to walk with me to the front desk so I wouldn't drink them on the way. It was probably one of my worst cravings since I hit 1 year sober. I politely explained to them that their housekeeping staff needed to check better and why. And my daughter, with her red-headed temper, ripped them a new one and got us a discount. Lol

Jess, thank you for sharing what you did.
What an important reminder to not become complacent and yes, a great example of how to handle a trigger.
Your daughter rocks as well!
