Normies don’t. Your people do. Lean on them and learn from them. Living amends take a long time, but they are so worth it.

For those of us there is no explanation necessary. For all others there is explanation possible.

Is there a possibility they would be open to reading some portions of the Big Book? There are a couple chapters in there such as Chapter 8 "To Wives" or Chapter 10 "To Employers" (Just substitute the word wives or employers with the word parents or normies), that one could draw some solid parallels. My mum doesn't get it either but I suppose I don't entirely expect her to. Best of luck!

I agree with Craig but add. They will probably never understand as long as they respect your wishes not to drink. I hope you don't have to draw boundaries. Best of luck.
