How do I find/get a sponsor?

Attend meetings and you will find one. Make sure you are comfortable with that person 
A lot of the times at newcomers meetings they will have people raise their hands that are willing to sponsor someone. You want someone with a lot of sober time and has done it before. You want to think about what might be best for you? Do you need a hardass, or somebody who is mellow? You know yourself best.
Meetings and ask someone you can relate too
My addictions counsellor has never experienced addiction and doesn’t understand me or how I feel and my struggle. No matter how many different ways I tried to explain it to her. my parents don’t understand either and my friends don’t know. I feel so alone..

Have you tried attending meetings? That’s where you will be understood
I have in the past but I will try again

No one will understand you more than a peer that’s been there done that just like us. in person is my preference but if that’s not an option there’s plenty of zoom options
