Find a meeting and literally ask. It's not easy but worth it.Good luck on your journey.

I went to meetings for over 9 months before I got a sponsor and I chose him because I trust him

This question you’ve asked is the exact question I asked 6 months ago. Here is my answer.

Your sponsor is whomever points you in the direction of sobriety during the moments you need guidance. For me it started with this app and staying connected. Within a few days I made a visit to my first AA meeting. There I received additional guidance.

After several meetings I met a man senior to me who agreed to be my “sponsor”. He still is to this day. He for the most part is pretty hands off and I connect with him at meetings when I attend and occasionally check in with him.

In addition to these connections if reestablished my spiritual life. Here I’ve found my ultimate sponsor.

I keep in touch with all three and this seems to work for me.

Go to a meeting and ask someone to be your temporary sponsor. That way you can start working with someone but also making sure you connect
