How do I get sober ? I’ve tried before and can never go more than a few days

I may not have the right answer for you, just wanted to let you know i’m in the same boat. I can’t go more than 5 days sober so i know the struggle. Be strong and just keep trying. Reach out to people for support on here and someone you can talk to. My treatment center therapist one on ones really help me vent and get sh** off my chest and she gives me homework and holds me accountable. But still i use… but i get back up and keep trying and trying… Reach out to your local rehab centers that offer help for your current issue and get it started. Therapy really helps and the group support sessions really help as well. There’s many ppl out here that suffer like us and it’s nice to talk about it. Be strong and message me anytime. :raised_hands:t3:

I tried AA and NA…and although I didn’t get clean day 1, I did eventually do it. Those meetings changed my life❤️ the program helps
you change what makes you pick up in the first place. You can do this!!

We’re all in the same boat. It’s rough AF - it’s comforting to know im not the only one constantly fighting the cravings

Be true to yourself, you need to want to quit! When your ready try AA you will be welcomed with open arms by people that truly want to help you and guide you through these difficult times. Even then it is not easy but with support with folks that truly understand you it can be done. God bless you and stay sober for you.

If you are willing to do anything to get it, you will be willing to take certain steps. You have to want it, and surrender yourself to step one. Admit you are powerless, and can not do it alone. Get to a program. If you are not 100% ready to be sober that’s ok. But help is there for you when you want and need it. Good luck to you.

You cant fail, if you never stop trying! Just like any skillset, we cant become experts without a lot of PRACTICE. So never stop trying, and keep practicing until it sticks.:heart::heart:

I’ve gotten sober many times as well. I’ve noticed that the two times I stayed sober for a long period of time (a year or more) I REALLY wanted it and I pursued it with deliberation and determination. For me, it helps to see it as entire lifestyle change. I tend to read a lot and just incorporate a lot of memoirs and other books into the mix. I also cook a lot for myself and enjoy focusing on health and fitness. Find some things you enjoy doing or that capture your curiosity and attention enough that they become part of your daily life.

You keep your chest out and your chin up and walk the line my boy. It’s hard and it’s rough, I’m the same way iv tried a million times and could only go for a day or two then screw up. Longest iv been sober is 8 months and I want that back. If you need an ear man feel free to send me a message. Always good to have someone motivating you and pushing you through cause I know sometimes that’s the only thing that helps.

Make up your mind that you are doing this for yourself. This is an exciting time! It’s your life and your recovery. You get to decide where it goes for once. No one can ever take that from you.
