How do I go about finding a sponsor. I think that is my first assignment. I attended an AA meeting and I am not necessarily fond of the way. AA works.
Keep going back…. Raise your hand and say you are new. Can I ask what is it that you are not liking about AA?
I don’t like that they say alcoholics have a character flaw and that they are mainly motivated by intercourse. It’s very old-fashioned and definitely designed by men.
AA isn't for everyone. I hated it. One to one was better for me. The group embarrassed me, called me out on 2 separate occasions, just because I shared. 2 years apart, 2 different towns. There are other ways. Find a path that works for you.
See if you can find secular AA meetings.
