So anxious and depressed. Im off work and i cant afford it but mentally i cant be there and be dealing with this...can anybody talk? How did you do it?
Use all your tools in your toolbox. Hungry? Lonely? Tired? Go for a walk outside. Call your sponsor, or a friend..
Remind yourself why you're worth it
In the same situation for the last 5 months...I understand the difficulties very well. It's a very painful place to be but you can and will get through this!! Something that I heard recently, resignated with me and has been very helpful.
Between the words Trigger and Reaction is a space...a space for you to pause as well and use the tools you have been given by your recovery program. Pray, meditate, read the literature, call your sponsor, call a trusted friend, go to a meeting, do something for someone else( it gets you out of your head), walk, exercise, anything but take a drink. It will get better, it does, it has for me.
