How do you Celebrate?

Hey guys!! I had a super stressful but productive work day and was feeling SO pumped & had a ton of adrenaline flowing…. The familiar ‘let’s celebrate with champagne’ flashed through my mind but was quickly squashed by my imagining of how the night would end and tomorrow would feel. So I decided to skip the celebration cocktails…Then I realized that I don’t have to give up the actual celebration… I just have to find a different way of celebrating. So my question to the Loosid community is this: How do you celebrate your various life wins?

Definitely interested as well. I've had that "let's celebrate" moments recently but every way I used to celebrate involved alcohol, so now I just sit on the couch and watch YouTube lol, which sucks..

All kinds of ways. I make mocktails if in the mood, a great meal is always nice, an extra workout session for all the endorphins, plus movie night with bacon fat popcorn and the kids.

Sometimes a cookie, sometimes a good non-alcoholic kombucha! Or, sometimes I go for walk or put on some dance tunes and go nuts! Sometimes I put on a guilty pleasure tv show or movie and just chill. Whatever your heart tells you, go for it!

Oh yeah! Always a great mood (and body) booster! Also, if I feel like I want “bubbles” I do a little good quality juice like pomegranate or cherry with some club soda or sparkling water.

Buy yourself a fondue pot on Amazon and celebrate yourself by dipping strawberries into bubbling hot chocolate.

I have found that a Shirley Temple will do just fine. Take your self out for dinner and order as many as you'd like.

Early on my celebrations were spent mostly alone or with family, at home or their house. It started off as words, congratulations and good jobs, that sorta thing. I didn't know how I'd react to large, busy places or a party type environment so I didn't put myself into those situations until I was confident that sobriety was something I don't ever plan on going back from. Once I felt like this was my thing, then I was able to venture out, but usually it was totally on my own with no pressure from anyone else. I always made sure I had a reason to be in the environment- dinner, concert, etc. Never felt I needed to be anywhere just to "party." It was years into my sobriety before I felt comfortable going out on holidays or to be a DD. But then again, this was what worked for me. We're all different.

I still feel like I need to buy something that's enjoyable and fleeting, so I go for cigars like an Oliva V-series or Rocky Patel 20th Century
